Narayan commenced his professional career as a Project Engineer executing LSTK projects; since then he has steadily executed Pre-FEED, FEED, Detailed Deign Engineering and EPCM projects for Offshore & Onshore upstream Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, Storage Terminal, Pipeline, Polyester and Specialty Chemicals industry.

Narayan’s expertise primarily lies in the engineering execution of projects and the same is demonstrated through the various greenfield & brownfield projects that he has executed in the Pre-FEED / Conceptual, FEED and Detailed Engineering phase.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead a team of discipline engineers to perform Pre-FEED / FEED / Detailed Engineering / EPCM projects from Project award to close-out / hand-over.

Extensive interface with Customer, Stakeholders (internal and external) to agree on the scope of work / interface, project execution strategy, project schedule, key milestones & other project requirements.

Participate in risk assessment to identify the risks & their subsequent mitigation through timely action of recommendations & regular reviews.

Develop the project execution & quality plan having optimized the selected project engineering & design concepts & monitor its implementation.

Contribute to the development & control of the project deliverables ensuring that Customer requirements & comments are appropriately met.

Monitor the project schedule & progress against approved milestones & mitigate any technical, quality, cost, schedule risks.

Responsible for the project cost including the management of project change.

Organize & chair kick-off meetings, progress review meetings, design review workshops, etc., issue minutes & close-out action points.

Interface with procurement & construction / installation functions, on requirements, concerns, technical queries, deliverables, etc., during the project duration.

Report the project health, progress to stakeholders on regular basis through agreed project reporting procedures.

Identify opportunities for project enhancement & facilitate sharing best practices & lessons learned.

Early Engineering works for two modules (Separation and Produced Water Treatment) for an FPSO project being executed for Yinson, for Petrobras, Brasil, involving development of P&ID (ready for HAZOP), IFR status Module Layouts (in alignment with the overall FPSO Layout) and an E3D Model (with sufficient information to perform 30% Model Review). Additionally the early works also involved Estimating overall module weights, Estimating MTOs, and TBEs for LLI to ensure prepardness for PO placement.

Support bids for EPCI of various modules on FPSO for Petrobras, ONGC, Aker, etc.

Qatargas Company Limited’s NFE Topsides and Pipelines FEED Project comprising of 8 x WHP (15 well slot unmanned topsides), 4 x 38» Trunklines, 4 x 28» Intrafield pipelines, including Onshore scope at Ras Laffan Industrial City.

Narayan was interviewed and selected by QG as Interface Manager for this project. Narayan worked the initial months on the project developing the Interface Management Plan and External Interface List with support from Qatargas.

Narayan was actively involved in the project set-up activities developing the Project Execution plan, providing inputs to 30-Day plan, Sub-contract plan, Design Workshop schedule, i-DOCS EDMS setup, etc., having been involved during the bidding for this project.

Qatargas Company Limited’s RGE Wet Gas Looping Pre-FEED project comprising of multiple Riser tower platforms, intra-field pipelines, trunklines, and modifications on new wellhead platforms from previous project phase. Narayan’s primary responsibilities included developing the Project Development Memorandum, and other project management deliverables emnating from Constructability workshops, EPC Planning workshops, Site surveys, etc., in addition to inter-discipline coordination to achieve discipline deliverables’ close-out in line with the project schedule.

Support the development of technical pursuits through review of ITTs, attending bid clarification discussions, inputs to project execution plans, coordination with Sub-contracts, Marine, Procurement, Installation functions, and Engineering disciplines for inputs on man-hour estimates, schedule, project team, project deliverables, etc. Narayan worked on following ITTs:
