• Investigated the mineablity of the scalping material within the south shaft underground workings, Dwarsrivier chrome mine.

• Worked on the Chemical and petrographic characterisation of transition boundary between th MG2 package and MG3 package at Dwarsrivier Chrome mine (M.Sc. project).

• Investigated the possibility of using blasthole wirelines to determine coal qualities, to possibly improve grade control.

• Investigated the impact that pillar implosion has on the actual yield and qualities of S2 coal.
