Dear Employer,
My name is Gabriella Bennett and I am currently employed at ‘South Jersey Behavioral Health Resources’ group home as a residential counselor. As well as ‘Willingboro High School’ as the girls basketball team head coach, paraprofessional and student council Advisor. I am a 2013 graduate of Willingboro High School. I have coached at the school for four years and I am interested in applying for the Head coach position at Marian University. I graduated from Bloomfield College with a degree in Sociology. Since my graduation, I have worked in the Willingboro school system as a paraprofessional, as the girls basketball Assistant Coach for two year, and now for the third year, the Head Girls Basketball Coach, a long term substitute teacher at the Willingboro Alternative School, and the ESY program as a teacher through ESS. Also I am the student council advisor.
I believe that I will have an impact in the Head coach position. I will play a critical role in improving players performance by ensuring that they create and maintain a positive environment on and off the court. I will create a culture of high expectations. My objective is to provide my service to others while helping to develop their behaviors and maintain an environment that is conducive to learning and growing.
“A student council advisor guides student leaders in successfully planning events, making decisions and representing their fellow students. This role is essential to developing students' leadership skills and supporting their efforts to serve their school.” which is similar to this position that's why I believe that I am a perfect candidate for the Head coach position. I understand the role of the position and the importance of helping them be the best player they are capable of being.
I have worked in fields in which I have had to help students and individuals find ways to communicate when they are angry or in crisis. I am very caring and understanding and consumers are receptive to my intentions and respond to be in a positive manner. I have worked with students at the alternative school and being a teacher assistant in the behavior disabilities class, I have had to de-escalate situations, provide restraints, and assess situations within a moments notice to ensure the safety of all students. I have built relationships with many of the teachers and staff throughout the district. I have worked with the Child Study Team members in one capacity or another and feel that I have established myself as a dependable and reliable staff member.
As a resident of the community, It is my goal to enhance the education of others through encouraging self-esteem, building confidence, and providing a safe environment to allow them to take risks and to accept challenges. I want to combine my range of experience with my ability to be a disciplined, compassionate, enthusiastic, and an intelligent leader. I believe I will continue to make a positive contribution to others. It would be an honor to continue to serve the culture of basketball here at Marian University. I would welcome an interview and hope to hear from you soon.
Respectfully,
Gabriella Bennett
