Historical comparison of gender inequality in scientific careers across countries and disciplines

By Junming Huang, Alexander Gates, Roberta Sinatra, Albert-László Barabási

pnas.org — SignificanceEmpirical evidence suggests significant gender differences in the total productivity and impact of academic careers across science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. Paradoxically, the increase in the number of women academics over the past 60 years has increased these gender differences. Yet, we find that men and women publish a comparable number of papers per year and have equivalent career-wise impact for the same total number of publications.ABOUT A YEAR AGO Open in Who Shared Wrong byline?

Las Vegas, Nevada sounded like a war zone

By Alexander Gates

us.blastingnews.com — I was about 2000 miles away, but listening to the news, I heard a hail of gunfire the likes of which I had only heard in war movies. At such a time as this, when our great nation is made a war zone from within, and mass murder ensues, it is time, now more than ever, to talk about these weapons that we are allowing to be bought and sold here rather unencumbered. It’s time to talk, dare I say it, gun control [VIDEO].4 YEARS AGO Open in Who Shared Wrong byline?

Donald Trump: 'The NFL is ruining football!'

By Alexander Gates

us.blastingnews.com — #Donald Trump says the NFL is “ruining football”. He was referring to a 15-yard penalty imposed on players that hit and/or tackle defenseless opponents unnecessarily hard. This has been a fairly long process since Dr. Bennet Omalu, a forensic pathologist and neuropathologist, first discovered and published his findings on Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) in 2005. The NFL, and perhaps the nation, may not have been ready to soften the sport.4 YEARS AGO Open in Who Shared Wrong byline?

Rescinding DACA is an act of terrorism by an impostor in the White House

By Alexander Gates

us.blastingnews.com — A President extorting his people is not a ‘deal maker’. #Donald Trump doesn’t really make good deals. He, instead, uses intimidation, and extortion to get what he wants. That’s not suave deal making but it is bullying and intimidation. It’s gangster-style. DACA is being used, by the Trump administration, as a form of extortion through kidnapping [VIDEO]. Rejecting Dreamers; It’s wrong. It’s sadistic. It’s down right evil.4 YEARS AGO Open in Who Shared Wrong byline?

It looks like Donald Trump has narcissistic personality disorder.

By Alexander Gates

us.blastingnews.com — I have written before that I believed #Donald Trump to be a malignant narcissist. And following Hurricane Harvey everyone was, once again, given a clear and concise demonstration of how a malignant narcissist responds to “other people” suffering. Apparently, the only thing that matters to someone with a narcissistic personality disorder is themselves and being seen and worshipped. Something they often feel is occurring even when it is clearly not the case.4 YEARS AGO Open in Who Shared Wrong byline?

South Korean and American war games could make China and Pyongyang uncomfortable

By Alexander Gates

us.blastingnews.com — If China would do their part and get their wayward stepchild, #North Korea, under control, then perhaps America and her allies would not feel the need to play so many “#War Games” in their backyard. China and North Korea might not like us actively defending ourselves and our allies but they are going to need to get accustomed to it. If they are determined to threaten America, the future is not going to look good for anyone in the world.4 YEARS AGO Open in Who Shared Wrong byline?

Where do movie sequels go to die?

By Alexander Gates

us.blastingnews.com — I want to discuss sequels. Sequels are what I call, “Where movies go to die”. It doesn’t happen immediately. It takes sometimes as many as 3 sequels before the soul of a movie has been totally traded off for something more devoid of substance. If a movie had violence, a good plot, and story line, and it was assumed that the violence was what drew the crowds, then they would spend much less on plot and storyline, and everything on violence.4 YEARS AGO Open in Who Shared Wrong byline?

The Democratic Party failed the nation

By Alexander Gates

us.blastingnews.com — Make no mistake, the people spoke when it came to the elections. Most of the people within our borders didn’t want Donald Trump as president and that is an indisputable fact but the #Democratic Party failed us. It has grown weak and complacent; overconfident, lazy, and clumsy. I can only begin to shine the light on all I see is wrong as I’m not an expert, but I love my country and my freedom enough to learn. I know there were Democrats who didn’t vote, as I knew a few and they annoyed me greatly.
