Senior On-site Project Engineer performing work under the Total Environmental Restoration Contract (TERC-5) for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) at the Shattuck Chemical Superfund Site, Denver, Colorado. Remedial actions were performed under the USACE for the EPA and Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE). Successfully completed an over $26.6 million dollar design-build contract to remediate the Denver Radium Superfund Operable Unit 8 Site contaminated with low-level radioactive soils and debris solidified in an engineered concrete monolith structure. The Shattuck Chemical Project Team received The 2005 Commander’s Award for exemplary accomplishments and service honoring the team as USACE’s top performing Civil/ Environmental Engineering project for the year.

Successfully achieved the placement and permanent storage of 2.8 million cubic yards of radioactive and asbestos containing material into a Subtitle D Hazardous waste landfill repository.

The project entailed earthmoving, grading/surface preparation, clay and geosynthetic liner installation, testing and leak detection, leachate collection system monitoring and maintenance, decontamination system design, and the excavation, relocation, and final placement of the radiological contaminated materials.
