PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Working as an Electrical Estimation Engineer in (MEP Projects) “Drake & Scull International LLC”, Muscat – Oman. From August 2014 to August 2018 Responsibilities and duties:

Receive Tender documents (Drawings + Specification + Bill of Quantities) pertaining to Electrical Section of the works from Estimation Manager.

Review the documents and ensure that all data required for pricing are available in the documents.

Prepare tender queries for missing information/drawing or any contradiction between the documents.

Send enquiries to the specified/non-specified suppliers for materials & equipment.

Receive quotation from various suppliers.

Evaluate the supplier quotations against the tender requirements such as capacity, quantity, specifications, deviations etc. Make comparative analysis of all the quantity & use the optimum solution.

Arrange to get the quantity take-off from the drawings through the Assistant Estimators.

Preparation of material cost and man hours for the Electrical work with reference to BOQ, Drawings, Specification and Tender documents.

Preparation of Electrical BOQ (Bill of Quantities/ Estimate), Tender for Projects as per the Drawing & as per standard for all kind of LT, HT & Ancillary works.

Ensuring the estimate provided was effective.

Understanding Site requirements and reflecting the changes in the engineering aspects.

Attending Technical meetings with Consultants & End-Client.

Maintaining Documents & Records for future reference as per ISO and internal company standards.

Worked as an Electrical QS/Estimation Engineer in “Envicon Emirates” Dubai- U.A.E. (M/s. Nael &Bin Harmal Hydroexport Est. Group) From May 2013 to July 2014.

Responsibilities and duties:

Review Tender documents / Drawings / Specifications and identify scope of work, extract actual quantities to prepare preliminary estimation.

Find out and extract unspecified quantities in the base tender documents by design additional work scopes / bill of materials.

Float inquiries to various suppliers of Electrical items for project estimation.

Prepare and identify various bulk material requirements, which is not mentioned in the base contract.

Prepare actual manpower estimations (Direct / Indirect) Plant machinery requirements.

Prepare and submit required engineering deliverables to obtain for the clients / consultants final approvals.

Resolve and rectify technical problems on site by attending technical meetings with consultants/Main Contractor.

Coordinate with project quantity surveyor to prepare and submit monthly progress invoice and attend clarification meetings if required with the clients.

Ensure all bids are estimated and presented correctly and professionally in accordance with company’s policies and procedures.

Give required technical input to the planning engineers to build-up man hour Histograms, Overall Project Schedule.

Worked as an Electrical QS/Estimation Engineer in (MEP Projects) “ETA M&E Division“, Doha-Qatar from July 2010 to March 2013. Responsibilities and duties:

Review tender document in detail and develop clear understanding the scope of work and responsibilities.

Performing basic design and Engineering calculations for various Electrical systems like Load calculation, Transformer sizing, Generator sizing, Circuit breaker sizing, Capacitor bank sizing, voltage drop, cable sizing, cable tray, Bus bar trunking and Earthing & Lightning protection system etc.

Coordinating & guiding the Quantity Survivors for the proper quantity take off & summarizing the quantities.

Floating the Technical queries (if any) to the consultant/main contractor for clarification.

Floating Enquiry to the Suppliers / Manufacturers as per the makes specified in the tender documents.

Analyze the received quotations from suppliers, Perform a comparison among received quotations trying to reach the most competitive one and meanwhile satisfy the client's requirements.

Meet with subcontractors and suppliers, when required to discuss and clarify technical and commercial aspects.

Worked as a Junior Engineer in “ETA M&E Division“, Doha-Qatar from November 2008 to July 2010.

Execute the site internal installation works like conduit, ducts for LV & ELV underground cables, box fixing, cabling and erecting the sub main distribution board, distribution boards and final circuits such as power sockets & lighting fixtures and execute the manpower resources and how to work safely in site.
