Assistant Engineer - Kozhikode Diesel Power Project Kerala State Electricity Board Ltd

As an Assistant Engineer in the Operation & Control wing of the 96 MW power generating station, my responsibilities include:

• Supervision and immediate troubleshooting of the Engine Floor, including 6 x 16 MW Wartsila 18V46C engines, SIEMENS & BHEL alternators, brushless excitation systems and auxiliary systems like fuel booster pumps, lube oil separators and cooling water systems.

• Leading a team of Electrical and Mechanical Sub Engineers, Shift Assistants and other technicians.

• Supervision & immediate troubleshooting of 5 x 38 MVA 110/11 KV BHEL Generator Transformers.

• Supervision of 110V DC Battery Bank, Vacuum Circuit Breakers, Air Circuit Breakers and other MV, LV switchgear.

• Supervision of Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant and electrical systems at Fuel Treatment Plant and Boilers.

• Monitoring engines, alternators, auxiliary systems and their parameters through SCADA and assisting the Station Operator.

• Signing off ’Permit To Work’ requests for repair and maintenance activities by the Maintenance Wing, verifying and ensuring electrical isolation and safe working conditions for the same.

• Real-time monitoring & performance analysis of Plant performance & faults to minimize downtime.

• Coordinating with the Maintenance Wing to resolve issues and enhance Plant performance.
