Project Engineer – Air Quality May 2018 – August 2018 Trinity Consultants, Cincinnati, Ohio
• Evaluated capability and performance efficiency of two dispersion models for Federal Highway Administration in order to better understand the transition from the CALINE models to AERMOD in transportation related air quality analysis.
• Executed both the models with different source characterizations (line source, volume source and line/pit source).
• Conducted comparative assessment among the two models in relation to methodology and data requirements. Project Engineer – Solid Waste May 2017 – August 2017 Environmental Protection Agency, Cincinnati, Ohio
• Used an ultrasound assisted-anaerobic fermenter for efficient production of volatile fatty acids (VFAs) from food waste.
• Optimized the bench-scale Microbial fuel cell (MFC) for energy production from VFAs.
• Designed and optimized the bench-scale bio photovoltaic cell (BPC) for energy production and fixation of carbon dioxide. Research Intern May 2015 – July 2015
Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), Karnataka, India
• Performed quality analysis of inlet and outlet wastewater by lab experiments like BOD analysis, COD analysis and TSS analysis.
• Compared performance analysis of extended aeration vs trickling filters at different treatment plants of BWSSB. Intern June 2011 – August 2011
Corporate Leisure Property Developments Pvt. Ltd, Karnataka, India
• Assisted in designing plumbing and sewer systems using AutoCAD for an apartment complex in Bangalore.
• Spearheaded development of key technical reports such as auditing, project schedule, progress reports and executive summary. ACADEMIC PROJECTS
PM2.5 Source Apportionment using the Chemical Mass Balance with Gas Constraints (CMB-GC) Model August 2016 – Dec 2020
• Processed PM2.5 speciation data for the period of 2008-2015 from the Taft site to create a final data set to be input for the model.
• Executed CMB-GC model using four different source profiles for both original and interpolated data set.
• Proposed source apportionment results from this study to be used in time series epidemiologic health models to understand the association of PM2.5 source contribution and speciation with respiratory diseases.
• Proposed results from this study to be used to assist policy-making organizations in environmental regulation and compliance by proposing better pollution abatement strategies to protect human health. Biomethanation of Food Waste using Anaerobic Baffled Reactor, NEERI, Maharashtra, India June 2014 – June 2016
• Set up and acclimatized the Anaerobic Baffled Reactor (ABR) with proper influent, effluent and gas collection arrangements.
• Assessed the hydrolytic potential of food waste in a lab scale ABR at National Environmental Engineering Research Institute.
• Proposed and designed an anaerobic digestion plant comprising of ABR for installation at VNIT campus to treat 100kg/day of vegetable waste and the recovered biogas to be used as cooking gas in the hostel mess based on the results. Bioremediation of a Contaminated Soil, VNIT, Maharashtra, India March 2014 – May 2014
• Conducted an extensive project for a course work on bioremediation.
• Implemented site investigation, field investigation and comprehensive subsurface investigation.
• Suggested phytoremediation as a remedial method after field sample analysis and proposed post remediation monitoring. TECHNICAL SKILLS
