Ethane/Propane Steam Cracker Design – Baton Rouge, LA Jan 2020 – May 2020
-Designed an Ethane/Propane cracker that took an ethane-propane mixture and created ethylene by using AspenPlus and applied constant improvements through the application of engineering principles, theory, and concepts
-Designed a base case design, and applied costs optimizations to reactors and operations such as heat integration
-Provided PFDs, P&IDs and list of materials and equipment and specifications such as heaters, valves, and piping
-Applied risk mitigation and productivity improvements in accord with HAZOP to satisfy health and safety objectives
- Sized and modified equipment design using ALOHA for gaseous release in accordance with safety regulations
Undergraduate Researcher – Louisiana State University; Baton Rouge, LA
-Operated a polymerization reactor unit controlled by an Emerson DeltaV DCS system
-Created polydimethylsiloxanes (PDMS) from cyclic starting material and catalysts in anionic ring opening reactions
-Measured and quantified the purity and size of growing polysiloxane molecules using a Brookefield viscometer and other analytical methods when the amount of reactant was modified
