CAREER OBJECTIVE:

Seeking a position to thoroughly utilize my skills and abilities cultivated from my experience in media which encompasses new media such as Internet and digital journalism. Moreover, I have a passion for film-making. In my stint with Indian Express during 1988-1997 I have written several Tamil film reviews and articles related to cinema. For example, during early 90’s I wrote a big articled titled “The state and fate of cinema houses”, predicting that theatres were on the way out. Besides, I have interviewed film personalities – Tamil actor Sivakumar, singer TM Soundararajan- and published the interviews in Indian Express.

Moreover, I have tried to make a foray into Tamil cinema, but could not succeed. But the experiences I have grained from story-discussions with lesser known film people and from writing some scripts have imbibed in me a natural story sense. I have also written short stories and poetry in both English and Tamil.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:

Postgraduate Degree in English Literature (Master of Arts-M.A).

B.A. in English (REGULAR: Madurai Kamaraj University in 1983)

WORK EXPERIENCE:

32 years’ experience in editing, writing and translating (English & Tamil).

I have translated five English novels into Tamil for a publishing house. They are: 1. Atlas Shrugged 2.Alexander Secret and 3. The Bestseller She Wrote. 4. Animal Farm (George Orwell) 5. 1984 (George Orwell).

Also I have translated several Tamil articles into English, which have been published in book forms and magazines.
