To whom it may concern,
I am writing today to discuss my interest in open positions for Junior Architectural Technologist or potential intern technologist positions.
I am currently attending SAIT’s architectural technologies two-year diploma program. So far, I have become well-rehearsed and adept in AutoCAD, the 2019 National Building Code, Alberta Building Code, and I have been learning Revit for about three months now. The practical and in-depth knowledge of architecture that I am taking at SAIT will make me a valuable teammate. I see working as a technologist as an opportunity to participate in something greater than myself as well as an opportunity to innovate during these ever-changing times. During my time at SAIT, I have gained a sound knowledge of residential design and technical architecture, alongside software including AutoCAD and Revit. The great part about this program is the number of projects provided. Throughout my first semester and currently my second semester we were tasked with designing and drafting an entire house from scratch using the rendering software of the instructors choosing. With this education, I believe I could bring great innovation and value to any firm or team. Alongside being raised in a house that strongly believed in the idea of home, I believe in the idea of innovation for sustainability and convenience.
Alongside my technical knowledge, my ability to work in a team, as well as a leader, has been sharpened by my current role at ATSA (Architectural Technologies Student Association). Currently, I am one of the directors of Student Engagement for ATSA, which entails, organizing events such as game nights, industry nights, and other architecture-related extra-curricular activity. More importantly, I work with team members in my department as well as collaborating with team members outside my department to organize events and event promotions. With this experience as well as being a very social guy, I can say I am always excited to meet and work diligently alongside new team members. Being a part of SAIT’s architectural technologies program I can say with confidence I would be a valuable team member. Please feel free to reach me anytime at 587-***-****. Best regards,
James Davidson
