Experience:

New York State Unified Court System (03/2018-Present) Position: Network Engineer

Work as a Network Engineer for UCS located in Troy, New York. Responsibilities include but not limited to monitoring and security of the New York State Unified Court System network that supports voice, video and data communications for over 300 state courts and 1,300 town and village courts throughout New York State. Primary duties are maintaining Solarwinds NPM, cacti, Splunk and other Network monitoring tools in a NOC environment. Work as part of the Network Security team installing, maintaining and troubleshooting Juniper SRX Firewalls which include policy control and Site to Site VPN access throughout the United Court System.

nFrastructure (11/2015-03/2018) Position: Sr. Network Engineer

Consultant for New York State Office of Information Technology Services assigned to LAN Engineering Services for the Energy and Environmental Cluster. Subject Matter Expert for Department of Public Services and Lead Firewall Engineer. Primary duties are Implementation and Support of a multi-vendor network environment. Responsible for Juniper SRX3600s, ISG2000s and SSG5 – 550s, Cisco ASA and Checkpoint firewalls. Router and switches that consist of cisco 800s, 1900s, 2800, 3500s – 3700s, 6500s, ASRs and Nexus 5k and 7k switches. Managed and supported policy and route base tunnel solution. CMA Consulting (03/2015 – 11/2015) – Network/Admin Engineer

Work as a Network Engineer for the Medicaid Information Service Center of New York at the Medicaid Data Warehouse. Responsibilities including maintaining a Cisco, Juniper and f5 environment within the Medicaid Data Warehouse. Those included Cisco 6500, 2960 and Nexus 5k, Juniper SRX3600s, SRX650s and SRX220s. f5 LTM for our load balancing and used Linux Bind for DNS. Responsibly for Remote VPN access using Juniper SSLVPN 4500 appliance. Duties also included working with Solarwinds and Nimsoft monitoring.

CoreBTS (11/2014 – 03/2015) Position: Systems Engineer

Network Engineer consultant working on varies projects from K – 12 schools, college and State University’s consisting of 100 to 5000 users to business staffing engineer ranging from medium to large network infrastructures. Duties include but not limited to working on Cisco wireless, Cisco switch/router/firewalls upgrades, troubleshooting and maintenance.

NTT DATA (09/2013-11/2014) Position: Network Support Engineer

Duties: Consultant for New York State Office of Information Technology Services in the Design Planning and Implementation engineering group. Primary duties are Implementation and support of a multi-vendor network environment (Juniper, Cisco, Nortel) that supports over 500 remote locations. Configuring and maintaining routing including the use of RIP version 2, OSPF, and BGP. WAN technology including Point-to-Point, bonded circuits and E-ports from 10Mb to 1Gbps. LAN technology including VLANs, STP, LLDP, and link aggregation. Firewall solutions including the use of policies and VPN design. Supported advanced switching and routing including the use of (VSS) Virtual Switching Systems. Configuring SSLVPN, client and clientless VPN solution. Performing network integration with business partners using appropriate secure network solutions. Troubleshooting problems within the network environment and working with ITS technical staff and vendor technical staff to diagnose and correct problems. Maintained records of system changes and upgrades. Reviewing and recommending network operating system patches and upgrades. Provided assistance in the development of policies and procedures.

EarthLink Business (2007-2013) Position: Field Service Engineer

Duties: Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair all equipment located within the EarthLink Business collocation facilities in the upstate New York area. This includes Fiber and M13 multiplexers, Core routers, digital loop carriers, ATM switches, and digital subscriber line access multiplexers. Responsibilities also include turn up, testing and troubleshooting transport facilities and local loops at all levels from POTS to 10G. Efficient in switching systems like the Lucent 5E and Metaswitch. Maintain various types of equipment including but not limited to: Access Node, ASR Cisco 9000 router, Cisco 15454s, Turin, Huawei, DMXs, AMFs, DDM2000, MUXs, DACS and power equipment. Responsible for an OC192 fiber ring, major fiber POP and 32 collocations in the upstate New York area. Well versified in the installation, configuration and troubleshooting of layer 2 and layer 3 cisco and adtran routers and switches.

Communications Technology Services (2002-2007) Position: Field Technician

Duties: Worked as a contracted AT&T Field Service Technician. Primary job included installing, testing and troubleshooting POTS, DSL and T-1 circuits at customers premise. Had to install, configure and troubleshoot routers, switches and other varies equipment to provide service which included but not limited to voice, data, wireless and video to the customer.
