Andrew L. Hicks Foundation—West Chester, PA September 2013-June 2016 Volunteer
• Co-led a children’s Christmas toy drive raising over $17,000 in items collected. This was the highest level of donations the Hicks Foundation had received for the drive. We enlisted the support of team of volunteers and drove the development and implementation of a targeted marketing campaign in local schools, businesses, and residential areas to achieve this goal.
• Co-led a children’s back to school supply drive raising over $5,000 in new items collected. This included over 165 new backpacks filled with supplies and was the most successful drive for the Foundation at the time. Mentor
• Mentored a young man from late 2013 to mid 2016. Over the course of 3 years we developed a deep and trusting relationship through shared experiences and opportunities. This included working side by side, with others from the foundation, to transform a blighted city space to a community garden. Camp Counselor
• Lead group of elementary and middle school children during a four-day overnight camp during the summers of 2014 and 2015.
• Created and directed small group-based activities.
• Responsible for safety and discipline of children. This included the safe evacuation of campers during a fire in one of the nearby cabins.
