● Developed a web application(frontend and backend) for the economic development agency of a large county. Maintained and organized the data warehouse consisting of all parcel and land use information.
1. Migrated and rewrote backend from Python scripts hosted on ArcGIS Server to a Python Flask REST API
2. Re-designed the database schema and partitioned large datasets to optimize query performance
3. Wrote scripts to automate ETL operations, data quality validation and build financial reports using SQL Server, Pandas and Numpy
4. Troubleshoot client issues, ad hoc data inquiries and gather business requirements directly from client
● Contributed to a system that processes underground service alert (dig alert) emails and updates the status of work requests/orders in asset management systems and ArcGIS applications of municipal public works departments.
1. Extended email parser with extra categories to enhance adaptability to the system requirements of a diverse client base
2. Created Cloudwatch log parser in AWS Lambda to collect supplemental data when database instance is down or at limited capacity. Used boto3 AWS Python SDK and cron jobs to orchestrate Lambda functions. This feature recovers about 50 work order tickets for each hour of downtime
3. Conducted trial runs to test the system and eliminate errors before implementation Family Service Association, August 2017 - May 2018 GIS Analyst
● Conducted demographic and GIS analysis to locate low income residents of the Inland Empire with limited access to fresh produce using ArcGIS
● Prepared and cleaned data from various sources using R and MS Excel. Transformed data from flat files and JSON into spatial formats such as shapefiles and geodatabases
● Designed maps and spatial databases in ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro EDUCATION
