Duties & Responsibilities in Critical care & I.C.U

Critical care Assessment of Patients admitted to ICU.

Assessment of vital parameters of the clients

Evaluation and recording of Glasgow comma scale, Ventilator charting

Cardiac monitoring and assessment of CVP,ABP,NBP and identification of cardiac emergencies

Preparation of the unit an admission of the patients of the ICU

Assisting the various procedures as Tracheotomy E.T Tube insertion, PD Canula insertion, sub clavian .internal jugular, Femoral catheter insertion Arterial Line insertion,CVP monitoring, Catheterizing, Ryle’s tube insertion

Care of equipments in the ICU Inventory of drugs and supplies

Tasks of team leader to co-ordinate the activities of co-staffs in shift in duties

Providing basic nursing care to the patients and attainting to the activities to the daily living,suctioning,positioning, and other personal need of the patients

Communicating with the patients,relatives and the help team clarifying doubts of the patients
