PROFILE

I am a nurse practitioner, registered nurse, nursing educator and passionate healthcare

advocate. My career encompasses acute care bedside nursing, in home community nursing, preceptoring new nurses and nursing students and new academic healthcare educator. Healthcare leadership and patient advocacy are hallmarks of my career. I strive to give back to nurses and the community through mentoring, service, and education. As a healthcare business owner I seek to deliver advance, safe, personalize care to chronically sick, and underserved patients. The ideal organization is one that values innovation and passion for professional growth, high quality healthcare delivery and community service. I am currently looking for new opportunities in patient care, education, and, community based or clinic care.

EXPERIENCE

CLINICAL NURSE III, NORTHBAY MEDICAL CENTER; FAIRFIELD, CA 2013-PRESENT I work as a bedside clinical nurse III in the acute care unit. The unit cares for a variety of complex patient including cardiac step down patients, trauma surgical patients, neurosurgical patients, orthopedic surgical patients, general surgical patients, cardiac surgery patients, cardio thoracic surgical patients and general overflow medical patients. This is a level two trauma center, certified stroke center, and a magnet designated hospital. As part of my role of a clinical nurse III I help to train new nurses and precept nursing students in the final semester of nursing school. I also help to build a new model of training in the preceptor leadership group called TSAM which was modeled after the Mayo clinic. Highlights of my career at Northbay include the extensive learning opportunities to improve my practice and learn how to care for many complex patients in a face pace environment.

REGISTERED NURSE II, DOCTORS MEDICAL CENTER; SAN PABLO, CA 2011-2013 I started at Doctors Medical Center (DMC) as a new graduate nurse on the surgical unit. During my time at the hospital I crossed trained as an step down nurse with telemetry certification, and advance cardiac life support certification. I also acquired my BSN while employed with DMC. During my time there I became proficient in nursing skills, with a storing emphasis on infection control, pain management, wound care, surgical core measures, blood and blood product administrative.

The first cohort with Sonoma States seamless education bridge program. Successful created and implemented Wellness on Wheels in conjunction with Napa Valley Community Action Council and fellow cohorts. Graduated on the dean list.

Associate Degree Nursing 9/2009-5/2011. Graduated with honors with membership in Phi Theta kappa. Receiving 2 scholarships and 1 grants for academic achievements.
