PROJECT UNDERTAKEN:
TITLE: Performance enhancement on two-wheeler four stroke petrol engine
ABSTRACT:
The main objective of this project is to enhance the two wheeler four stroke petrol engine performance by increasing the compression ratio, improving the intake and exhaust flow, increasing the cubic capacity of the engine and also tuning up the carburetor to extract the maximum performance out from the engine. We have also port matched and improved the engine oil flow through the clutch bell and extending the longevity of the carbon fiber clutch plates and also to increase the bite.
We have changed the sprocket setup for increasing the torque to a substantial level. The role of this project is that this system of increasing the compression ratio of road going bikes would potentially increase the mileage and also increase the power output of the engine. We are developing this vehicle as a track racing bike and most of the OEM parts have been removed for some aftermarket performance parts. The removal of OEM parts has substantially reduced the weight of the vehicle, and also increases the performance to about 5%.
Another major objective is to showcase that the performance of our bike is increased from its stock form. The 0-100 kph timing, top speed are also recorded with real time experiments. We have also calculated the thermal efficiency, and likewise tried to improve it to some extent.
