Responsibilities

•Working with tapes that had barcodes which had to be scanned

•Working in pairs, one person would scan and the other would monitor the computer.

•Once the first person was done scanning the list was saved then the roles were exchanged in order to maintain accuracy the two lists had to correspond to the number of tapes that were scanned by the different two parties.

•Scanning the bar codes on the tapes

•Working on the computer as a tape is being scanned on the bar code it should indicate on the computer using the required programme that is used for scanning

•Dealing with accuracy of the tapes being scanned. By managing the computer and ensuring that each scan appears on the computer

•At the end of the scanning, the list of the scanned tapes was saved then exported to Micro-soft excel and was saved in that form.

•Before continuing, the document was double checked that it was saved properly, in the right format in the correct folder.

•The document was then saved into the memory stick and handed in to the external auditors and it was checked for accuracy.

•Scanned and monitored the tapes to verify that the amount of the tapes corresponded as we scanned each shelve twice.

Responsibilities

Collected Tapes that were for TX (transmission).

Ensured that they were all up to date and ready for TX

Collected tapes that were to go through Quality Control(QCC) before they could be TX Ready-transmittable

Printed out Final Control Sheets for every program according to what was on the Schedule on TVBMS and Tape that was ready for TX and ensured that they corresponded with episode numbers, tape number and it had segments

Prepared the tapes and sheets together to be delivered to Final Control Centre where the final transmission was taking place.

Delivered Schedules to FCC and worked hand in hand with the producers

Worked with Quality control – viewing and checking lip sync, color, and contrast and making sure that the program was good quality according to the company’s mandate for TX.

Loading FCC Sheets on the system with the specified program’s segments.

Double checked that programs were ready well in advance and were delivered on time

Received training for going digital with HD Files, checking them, viewing them etc.

Ingesting programs( processing them from a tape to a file ) for better viewing

Responsibilities

Tapes/Betacam became redundant due to the new digital systems that were in place and I started working as a programme Acceptance officer

Checked a file name of a programme from CRA, to VT to check if it is available

Once it was available it was ready for Quality Check

Viewed and checked the quality, language etc. of the content of a program that came before transmission

Segmented the program according to the slot it was in and the availability of the built in ad breaks

Gave the program /movie the necessary Certification that was suitable for the content

Viewed and worked on international and local Content

Viewed content that would be 1 hour,30 minutes and 15 minutes long depending on the slot it was in and it would be edit to match the mandate of the company for transmission

Editing like: lip sync, music, audio levels and channels, contrast, creating fades at the end of a segment, creating multiple segments and joining them into one

After segmenting, program was sent to Media Grid which will be available and ready for transmission in the Final Control Centre

Worked on durations according to the schedule for that particular day

Created and loaded Final Control Sheets on TVBMS that had time codes that indicted the duration of each segment of that particular program that is due to transmit

Can create a manual and automatic Final Control sheet for a program

Worked a week ahead or more depending on the availability of the programs where late delivery of content was concerned
