FINAL YEAR PROJECT

Study of USA Filtration System of WTP for 70 MLD in Sangli.

• To meet the increasing demand of water in sangli-kupwad Municipal Corporation had decided to install an additional Water Treatment plant of 70MLD at Malbanglow, Sangli on Head works on Krishna River.

• The USA i.e. first ever trilateral under-drain system in India used at a plant. The technical advantage of trilateral under-drain makes it simple, cost effective solution for efficient filter cleaning operation. The system is fully automated and thus fast as compared to conventional method.

• Trilateral Under-drains: Uses a passive Air scour approach to replace conventional, water only backwashes. This proven design offers a low cost, easy to assemble combined air/water or water only under-drain installation.

Trilateral under-drain system is an excellent system for filters utilized in both water and waste water treatment plants. Trilateral is designed to provide efficient distribution in backwash water for both water only backwashes and combined air/water backwashes.

• Tube Settlers: these are provided in sedimentation tank for clarification of water which increases the rate of water treatment process.
