Senior Technical Engineer – Axis DevOps and Axis / Aerial System Administrator (2019 – 2020)

Added system administration for Axis and 300+ Windows servers supporting Aerial product to role as sole DevOps support for seven SaaS-based Axis customers.

Provided Axis expertise and institutional / historical perspective to redesign of Active Directory in order to reduce security risk and minimize business disruption. Streamlined permissions in accordance with Principle of Least-Privilege (PoLP) for 5K Axis users, 5K Aerial users, and 200+ employees.

Served as SME for third party applications for hundreds of daily file transfers into multiple environments (SFTP, Go-Anywhere MFT) and for password support / storage for 5K users (Thycotic Password Reset and Thycotic Secret Server). Exceeded SLA with 99% up time for seamless and continuous customer service.

Provided quarterly and ad hoc documentation demonstrating ACA compliance to security audit team to facilitate HiTrust and MARS-E certifications.

Senior Technical Engineer – Axis Application DevOps (2017 – 2019)

Senior Hosting Engineer Specialist – AxisPoint Health (APH) (2015 – 2017)

Monitored performance of and maintained application servers for SaaS customers utilizing VITAL application. Installed, configured, and maintained application stack as required for each of seven customers. Trained multiple DevOps colleagues at both APH and Medecision.

Provided technical leadership to move seven customers with 5K active users and about 20 different environments from AxisPoint Health datacenter to Medecision datacenter. Served as Lead DevOps Engineer for migration of customers from McKesson’s datacenter to APH’s.

Worked with datacenter team to develop system templates to consistently deploy 25 servers during 90-day migration timeframe for Medecision.

Created multiple templates during McKesson to APH migration, both because APH servers had to be reconfigured from scratch and new customers with unique demands were being onboarded.

Developed hundreds of scripts to monitor key data handling processes and underlying Windows system resources. Created Powershell and batch scripts to automate customer data processing needs and monitor resources of underlying Windows servers. Automated alerts regarding processing errors.

Acted as DevOps lead on new customer implementation teams with direct customer interaction. Utilized Oracle to assist both Medecision and APH Client Support teams with resolution of database issues and assure HIPAA compliance.

Developed quarterly process for automatically updating and communicating new user passwords in support of legacy application that did not allow users to personally change their own passwords.

Collaborated with Engineering team as DevOps lead on implementation of major new upgrade to document creation application (Cincom Eloquence). Deployed next generation CCM software that substantially reduced risk, time, and costs associated with provider, facility, and patient communications.

Sr. Technical Consultant Hosting Services – McKesson (2013 – 2015)

Provided design implementation leadership to creation of VITAL application’s production environment to support application servers and customers for cloud-based Hosting Services.

Installed, configured, maintained, and troubleshot new application stack that integrated four different healthcare functionalities, including VITAL application plus three supporting applications (document warehouse, letter creation utility, and medical necessity criteria).

Developed scripts that automated / monitored customer data handling needs and underlying Windows resources. Transformed manual activities that took two hours/day per customer to 10 minute log reviews.

As primary application engineer for customized clinical criteria tool, provided operational support to Linux-based multi-tenant / multi-server environment in use by five major customers.

Directly interacted with customers and developed ETL data processes between VITAL and customers’ member management systems.
