Characterization tribological behaviour of
AA7075-B4C, an experimental approach
In this project, the Al-7075 metal matrix was
reinforced with varying weight percentage
of Boron Carbide (B4C). The fabrication of the
composite was done by electromagnetic stir
casting process. The mechanical properties of
the composite with varying weight percentage
of Boron Carbide (B4C) and get enhanced to a
particular extent. It was found that addition of
reinforcement improves the wear resistance
and is evident from wear analysis performed
with pin on disc apparatus. The wear analysis
has shown that there exists not much difference
in AA7075 with 10% B4C and 15% B4C.
