Inova – Information Technology Business Relationship Manager (BRM) (April 2017 – April 2020)

Established, managed, and maintained relationships with business partners within Inova Fairfax Medical Campus (IFMC). Developed and collaborated with leadership on numerous processes to improve safety and improve patient outcomes. This included various efforts to enhance communications and surgical outcomes to improve safety and patient customer service. I was the liaison between Information Technology (IT) and the IFMC Medical and Business Leadership where I defined, established service levels, and support requirements. Aggregated business needs through direct interaction with business partners in understanding business processes, the key drivers, and measures of success. I provided feedback to IT Service Delivery teams to identify challenges and opportunities required to enhance customer satisfaction and enable continuous Service Delivery improvement. Performed functions such as an internal consultant in developing and improving/automating business processes and productivity for Hospital Departments. Worked within the Inova IT Governance model to ensure technology standardization and new and existing technologies would work and be supported within the Inova IT standards and security. Comprehensive Health Services, Inc. – Manager of Infrastructure (2003 – 2004)

Managed all data, phone, and security for Comprehensive Health Services, Inc. (CHS). The Infrastructure division is responsible for remote locations across the US and abroad supporting 1000+ nodes. Utilized a blend of technologies to support the infrastructure including Microsoft, Citrix, Cisco, and Avaya. This supports a modern converged network of data and voice traffic, as well as supporting growth for video when business needs dictate. Managed a team of developers and engineers who design and enhance a Government E-Commerce Portal for Government Services Administration (GSA SmallBizMall.gov). Built and designed a multi-tiered Web portal that included multiple servers and hardware fault tolerance for reliability using IBM’s Net. Commerce Pro version 3.2. This configuration includes web server load balancing using Alteon switches, Firewall Load Balancing using CheckPoint’s software, Cisco Routers for connectivity, and IBM Netfinity 7000 severs with redundant hardware capability. CeKA Technologies Inc. - Network Engineer (1996-1999)

Director of the Network and Integration Group of CeKA. Projects included: corporate network migration to Windows NT 4.0 from a Macintosh environment. Developed and implemented a Windows NT 4.0 desktop standard configuration, remote dial-in solution, Lotus Notes email for use within the client’s company and Internet access, IP to IPX/SPX gateways. Performed technical analysis of a Token Ring to Ethernet TCP/IP network migration. The network administrator for Novell 3.12 and 4.1 servers, Windows NT version 4.0 servers, Microsoft Exchange 5.0, and Microsoft Internet Information Server. Designed and installed Ascend network routers and remote access servers for ISDN and analog dial-in clients.
