Projects
Effects of Copper and Silicon Particles on the Combustion Characteristics of Boron-HTPB based Solid Fuels for Hybrid Gas Generator Applications I.I.T. Kharagpur
Under the Guidance of Dr. Srinibas Karmakar
• Investigated the potential of Copper and Silicon particles in improving the poor burning properties of Boron loaded HTPB in gaseous oxygen environment.
• Preliminary analysis was done through NASA CEA software.
• FE-SEM and XRD results were used to determine material properties of Copper and Silicon particles.
• Bomb Calorimeter and Thermo-gravimetric Analysis results were used to investigate the calorific value and kinetics of the fuel.
• Obtained regression rate data using an Opposed Flow Burner setup. Experimental Testing Methodology of Liquid Propulsion Thrusters DRDL Kanchanbagh, Directorate of Liquid Propulsion Under the Guidance of MA Mallesh
• Analysed the experimental methodology used by the Defence Research and Development Laboratory to test liquid propulsion thrusters of various capacities.
• Focused on the experimental method contrasting it with the analytical and numerical method and its implementation using specialized equipment. Gas Turbine Assembly
BHEL Ramachandrapuram
• An analysis of the assembly procedures used by Bharat Heavy Electronics Limited for a gas turbine engine.
Academic Projects
Re-design and Analysis of Components of a Rolls Royce AE3007 Engine
• Worked in a team to re-design the Axial Compressor of the engine. Obtained and compared First Power, Free Vortex and Exponential designs.
• Worked in a team to re-design the Axial Turbine of the engine. Obtained and compared Free Vortex and Constant Nozzle designs.
Steady-State Thermal Analysis of a Rectangular Plate
• Used MATLAB to carry out computations to determine temperature distribution over a flat plate at various mesh sizes.
• Used different schemes such as Jacobi Iterative, Point Gauss Seidal Iterative and Point Successive Over-Relaxation to obtain results and compared them for convergence time.
