Rehabilitation of existing flexible roads and upgradation to four lane divided carriageway, by adding two additional lanes and rehabilitation of existing highway in general, for surface treatment, shape correction, resurfacing and strengthening by overlay, strengthening by reconstruction, repair and replacement of elements to ensure traffic safety, rehabilitation of bridges and rehabilitation of the roadside drainage system. This is a major highway road of the Jammu and Kashmir which connecting Jammu with Srinagar and other parts of Laddakh.

Position held: Chief Design Coordinator

Detailed Activities performed:

-Responsible for coordinating all design aspects of a Design Built project.

-Project consists of a four lane carriageway in hilly and steep terrain including 32.1 Km’s of Road, Six Tunnels, Six Major Bridges, 20 Minor Bridges, Seven Cattle under passes, Rehabilitation of 120 Culverts and new construction of 182 culverts.

-My job is also including the coordination with design consultants, Proof consultant, get approvals from Authority Engineer.

-As well as assist in preparation/Modifications of all the drawings related with Highway, Bridges, Tunnels and slope protection and other allied drawings.

-Type of pavement is the flexible pavement.

-Responsible for coordinating design of a Design Built project of 10 lane dual carriageway including five multilevel multi arms grade separated interchanges, 700 m. Long tunnel.

-Three pedestrian bridges and eight vehicular underpasses.

-My job also includes the coordination with design team in various aspects of design of carriageway, Structures including design of utilities, Utilities Diversion, Temporary Construction, Temporary diversion plans.

-All the detailed drawings were submitted in DWG format and as per contract prepared in Autocad civil 3d.

-All IFC drawings were also prepared and submitted in Civil 3D Format including the detailed sections of the road as well as utility drawings and utility profiles.

-Type of pavement was the composite pavement.

-As Highway Design Engineer, responsible for design review/ modification of design in light of site condition, issuing good for construction drawing as well as to check survey data and provide setting out details to the contractors, measurement and certification of quantity and reports preparation.
