EXPERIENCE
Senior Network Engineer: The Town Of Cary 1/19- 2/21
Responsible for implementing and maintaining the Town Of Cary network Infrastructure including the 911 center, town hall, Fire Dept, Police Dept, Traffic Infrastructure, Public Utilities, and Parks and recreation. Lead the installation of three fire station network deployment projects. Provided 24/7 on-call support for the 911 call center. worked with Meraki and Cisco ISE on a wifi project to get town wifi to public utilities. was responsible for support of town DC as well as core distribution and FW. Managed the town’s fiber-optic network which included the town hall, Police, Fire stations, Public utilities, Traffic as well as Parks and recreation.
CMS Networking Engineer: Insight Global Located at Cisco. 7/18-1/19
Currently part of Cisco’s cloud-managed service transition team. Migrated current security customers from MAP to the Cisco proprietary CMSP platform. Responsible for configuring appliances as well as adding data to the EM7 and Slunk database. Worked closely with PMs to reach timely transition. Worked with customers to improve the overall image of the team, as well as insure timelines of the transition.
Senior Network Engineer: GSK 3/18- 7/18
Migrate LAN services from an outsourced partner in-house to GSK. Planned, tested, and implemented network optimization projects with a focus on minimizing risk and increasing efficiency of the switched and routed networks. Developed documentation, proof of concept lab testing, and SOP for the migration activities. Provided 24/7 on-call escalation support for GSK Platinum and Gold tier locations. Created documentation and delivered training to the Command Center Tier 2 and 3 engineers. Used specialized industry tools like Spectrum, Infoblox, Cisco Prime, and Pandora to support the GSK LAN network.
Senior Network Engineer: PetroChoice Holdings 10/17- 3/18
Primary network engineer responsible for configuring, testing, and pre-deployment devices to minimize risk and increase efficiency for site rollout. Principle escalation for network outages in the NC data center as well as 50 branch offices. Responsible for setup and deployment of WatchGuard Firewall, Cisco Meraki Wireless AP, BOVPN Tunnel and, Cisco Switches for branch offices. Managed service providers during circuit activations. Created network schematics. Was used as a support tool for management to gain oversight for network design in the future.
L3 Service Provider Product Support Engineer: Allied Telesis 8/16-8/17
Troubleshot ethernet systems and performed prerelease product testing to identify defects before launch. Provided mentoring and training for Tier 1 and Tier 2 Technical Support Engineers. Educated customers on setup advanced functionality of our proprietary technology. Worked with Systems Engineers to develop Proof-of-Concept presentations, test plans, and design support. Executed pre-configuration services to prepare equipment for turn-key operations. Provided 24x7x365 escalation support. Managed and maintained our lab and testing facility. Acted as a conduit for our customers to share enhancement requests and defect escapes with our product developers. Focused on continuous product and service improvement.
CMS Networking Engineer: Insight Global Located at Cisco. 6/14-8/16
Managed a team of 15 engineers, tasked with monitoring and support of approximately 300 sites and 8700 devices scoping from wireless access points to optical transmission units. Pulled, aggregated, and delivered weekly metrics with a focus on meeting KPI goals and delving deeper into isolating issues to be worked in problem management cases. Performed change management training, documentation, and tasks related to network infrastructure upgrades and site maintenance. Improved the compliance rate for IOS upgrades by 25% globally. Represented Cisco Managed Services in weekly and monthly meetings providing status updates and reporting.
TIER3 Networking Engineer: Staytop Inc. Located at Cisco. 4/12-6/14
Lead the escalation queue for Cisco’s network operations team. Handled case delegation of low to high severity cases. Collaborated with my global peers to provide 24-hour service via following the sun and on-call rotations. Interfaced with and drove ISP service providers and internal teams to deliver network stability to all of Cisco’s branch sites which include Field Sales Offices, partner sites, and SMBOs.
TIER 2 Network Associate: STS International located at Cisco 4/07 – 4/12
Configure, and support Cisco Corp Firewall, Data Center, DMZ, Lan/Wan Lab gateways. Providing technical support to Cisco internal clients, allowing them to access, various devices, both internal and external. Worked with a global team to provide around-the-clock support of these technologies, as well as trained new employees on the requirements of the position. Was looked to for assistance when the team lost multiple engineers and needed someone to conquer a new role. Provided a reliable asset for the team to brainstorm issues, and provide solutions.
-Over achieved the position requirements for Lan/wan allowing me to quickly ramp up to the most challenging workload in around 6 months.
