Title: Manufacturing of benzyl alcohol

Description: Benzyl alcohol of high purity is produced by supplying benzyl acetate, water to a hydrolysis reactor packed with a solid acid catalyst. The liquid reaction mixture produced, which contains benzyl acetate, water, benzyl alcohol and acetic acid, is supplied to an acetic acid-water recovery column, Benzyl alcohol and benzyl acetate are recovered while acetic acid is removed and returned to the hydrolysis reactor. High purity benzyl alcohol is recovered as a desired product. Mini Project

Title: Biopolymer from crab shell

Description: Chitin is the second most abundant polysaccharide and produced annually as much as cellulose. It is the main structural component of the exoskeletons of animals like insects and crustaceans. Crab, shrimp, squilla and fish scale waste is ideal raw material for chitin production. The extracted chitin can be used to produce chitin-derived products, such as chitosan also for Bio-plastic and nanostructures film production.
