Development of Novel HIGH ENTROPY ALLOYS - METALLURGY Jul 2018 - Present High entropy alloys or (HEA’s) are the new class of materials that has attracted the attention of many researchers in the past few years. The reported HEA’s till date has been known to show exceptional mechanical properties such as high strength and high toughness. This new class of material is unique but their fabrication is challenging. The process involved the development of novel High entropy alloy in the form of two tablets of FeMoMnTiSiAlCr and FeMoMnTiSiAl by the mechanical alloying process. Elemental powders were rst mixed in equal proportions and were weighed using weighing scale. Nano powders were obtained after the process of ball milling for 40 hours. X-ray diffraction was performed to study the microstructure evolution resulting from mechanical alloying. The tablets were obtained after the compaction process which was performed on a manual hydraulic press with capacity of 2 tones PROJECTS
