It is my goal to share a historical perspective to social issues in the United States. I also want to place an emphasis on the role of the police in the historical discussion of race and labor in American history. Through my course work I have studied American history through the perspective of minorities and labor history. I have focused on the aspects of American police that have been troublesome to the nation and written essays on the role of the police in the civic sphere. During my time as an honors student at College of DuPage I focused on labor and racial relations in American history. Working with Sameul V. Mitrani, the author of The Rise of Chicago Police I gained valuable perspective into the emergence of police brutality and Chicago’s tumultuous history with laborers and minorities.

ACTIVITIES
Through my years at Northern Illinois University, I was privileged to volunteer at the Elgin History Museum assigned to write articles giving a historical perspective from Elgin history, such as women during the Suffragette movement. I was also a part of the Model United Nations during my years at College of DuPage and the History Club.
