AVTEC’s (PPD) Power Products Division in Hosur manufactures Off-highway Hauling Transmissions, both Automatic and Power-shift, in technical collaboration with Allison Transmission Inch and indigenously designed Cycling Transmissions for Off-highway material handling and Locomotive segments.

ROLES AND RESPONSBILITY:

• Responsible for day-to-day production activities to reach the desired quantity and quality.

• Manpower Management in Shop Floor (around 50 operators).

• Coordinating with QC for quality clearance of In-Coming, In-Process & Final Inspection materials.

• Discussion on major constraints related to quality and material shortages in daily review meeting.

• Workout the customer complaints and assembly complaints and taking the corrective actions to avoid such complaints in the future.

• Handling on batch production quantity and follow up for shortage material in-order as per production.

• Active user in stock taking and Inventory control of against the ERP - Oracle (SAP) system in clearing the daily work order completion transactions.

• Monitoring on daily production of machines, setting time, processing time, and guiding machine operators for good production, minimizing the setting time,

• Involved in the new Product development.

• Planning for machine maintenance for all machines.

• Root Cause Analyse for Rejection Parts.(Why – Why Analysis)

• Making CNC Program for Development parts.

• Maintenance of 5S and TPM activities, Discipline & any abnormal issues in production shop floor.

• Monitoring the QC Tools as Check Sheet, Primary Monitoring Chart, & Data History Sheet.

• Problem Solving in Trouble shooting.

• Continues improvement activities-KAIZAN.

• Planning Production Schedule.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

• Working on SMED Projects such as Set-Up and Cycle Time Reductions.

• CYCLE TIME REDUCTION Projects for Hobbing, Shaping, Gear grinding, & ID Grinding operations.

• We saved 456 hours per month in Eliminating ID Grinding Operation.

• SETUP TIME REDUCTION for Hobbing and Shaping machines by 20% from Existing time.
