EXPERIENCE
Senior Software Engineer
Relias
Morrisville, NC
Media monitoring
Lead a team of 4 developers to re-architect the Relias Population Health legacy application from SQL Reporting Services to a more scale-able web platform running in Azure. Technologies: ASP. NET Core, SQL Server, Azure Application Insights, CosmosDB, and Telerik Kendo (jQuery/JavaScript) web components.
As a Lead developer I provided boilerplate code examples, solutions, and training for other Engineers to use in Population Health. Responsible for the incubation and the end-to-end technical architecture and implementation of the "lentil" microservice project. This Azure Function is a simple company-wide microservice exposing content from a singular source instead of the prior method of multiple out-of-synch copies per application domain.
Created CI automation using Atlassian tools, Azure DevOps, and Octopus Deploy.
Worked as the Lead in a migration of our data platform on to the Azure cloud. This included communicating with stakeholders and other team members timelines, network planning, virtual machine sizing and testing, and new ARM templates to support.
Created new Disaster Recovery operations using Azure Storage and Azure Recovery services for SQL Servers and supporting IaaS in Azure. Mentored junior engineers on coding, software lifecycle, and Azure principles.
Supported Azure IaaS and Azure Platforms as part of devops responsibilities.
Software Architect
Care Management Technologies (formerly CMT, now Relias) Morrisville, NC
CMT specialized the Behavioral Healthcare genre of healthcare analytics. Wrote ~70% of the code for the ProAct web application which includes the web UI, backend, and SQL Server data layer and ETL. Lead company training to change from flawed manual database deployments to instead using Declarative Database Development where the "model" is the main source of truth. The tooling used for this was Visual Studio Database Tools (dacpac).
Created automation of ProAct application delivery to reduce manual involvement and save ~16 FTE per month.
Train two Developers in order for them to assume full handoff of responsibilities regarding the ProAct web application. Freelance Software Consultant
