Create fiber splicing drawings and ensure splicing contractors connect all splicing work to existing network. Manage every aspect of the OSP job cycle from conception to fiber splicing completion, including ISP work at customer locations

Read and interpret engineering prints and supervise contract companies to work the jobs as designed. Able to make changes on the fly to get jobs completed correctly and efficiently. Submit permit requests and track all permits once approved to ensure they are current for construction to work in city and DOT right of way. Manage contract crews and assigned contractors to do field visits and contact customers with questions, comments or complaints and make decisions to ensure they are satisfied. Assigned to a 2 month rotating duty roster requiring 24 hour a day, 7 days a week on call for any cable damage or service outages. Receive tickets and proceed to troubleshoot fiber optic and copper problems anywhere within AT&T cables. Repairs can include fusing fiber optic lines together or locating the exact location of the problem by looking at all of AT&T's cables on computer models. Being able to dig up the cable from underground or get up in the air via a bucket truck to fix broken cable in the air in a timely manner in order to get cable, internet and phone service connected to both business and residential areas, is crucial to being successful. Obey company policies and working as safely and as efficiently as possible while leaving the surrounding environment in the same or better condition than it was when starting the work. Reducing these extended errors increases productivity across the company which increases profits and overall reliability in the company. Use technologies like Remedy to open, troubleshoot and close tickets around the world. Remedy is also used to open RTPA’s (Real Time Problem Alerts) in order to track all of the updates given for incidents around the world in order to correct them as quickly and efficiently as possible. Use Spectrum to manage the thousands of networks and network devices (Cisco, Linux, Microsoft) around the world with up to the second technology to best correct any faults that occur as they happen. Putty is used to SSH or Telnet into these devices remotely to troubleshoot the issues and fix the problems found. Communication with teammates around the world is done with Microsoft Outlook, Live Meeting and Lync. Cisco VoIP is used for the work phone and Junos Pulse to create a VPN if we need to work off campus. On a daily basis, the Infoblox program is used to manage, allocate, modify and delete IP addresses and DNS records. DHCP scopes for each site within GSK are managed so static IP addresses do not get allocated from the DHCP pool.
