RESPONSIBILITIES

·Administer oxygen therapy via nasal cannula and catheter, oxygen face mask, partial and non-rebreather mask.

·Interview and examine patient’s with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders.

·Assembles, hooks, troubleshoots, and manage patients on mechanical ventilator.

·Monitor and adjust mechanical ventilator settings appropriately to assure proper function and certain therapeutic effectiveness.

·Spot check of patients oxygenation by pulse oximeter.

·Measure peak expiratory flow rate.

·Performs Pulmonary Function Test.

·Responsible in the performance of arterial blood gas puncture.

·Disinfect, prepare, calibrate and operate mechanical ventilator.

·Provides pulmonary drainage through chest physiotherapy, autogenic drainage and sputum induction.

·Facilitates weaning procedure and monitor patient’s response to the procedure.

·Evaluates effects of respiratory therapy treatment plan by observing, noting, and evaluating patient's progress; recommending adjustments and modifications.

·Work as part of a team of physicians, nurses and other health care professionals to manage patient care.
