RESPONSIBILLITIES:
·Set up and operate devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators, following specified parameters of treatment.
·Determines requirements for treatment, such as type, method and duration of therapy, precautions to be taken, and medications and dosages, compatible with physician’s order.
·Monitor and adjust mechanical ventilator settings appropriately to assure proper function and certain therapeutic effectiveness.
·Provide lung expansion therapy through Incentive Spirometry and IPPB.
·Performs Pulmonary Function Test and Electrocardiogram.
·Bronchopulmonary Hygiene Technique
·Calibrate, assemble, troubleshoot, and set Mechanical Ventilators.
·Monitor patient’s physiological response to therapy, such as Arterial Blood Gases, and consult with physician if adverse reactions occur.
·Read prescription, measure and interpret Arterial Blood Gases, and review patient information to assess patient condition.
