• Focused on three stages in the BOPS (Buy Online, Pick-Up in the Store) grocery fulfillment: (i) Order selection and receipt (ii) Pick and Pack and (iii) Order pickup. The base assumption here is that all activities are occurring at a regular exiting retail store.
• This major research task was to benchmark the current practice. Specifically, the following aspects of the flow process: logistics, facility layout, inventory management, scheduling, and IT functions.
• Investigated the BOPS grocery process at the following retailers: Walmart, Kroger, Publix and Albertsons/Safeway.
• The research helped to infer and recognize the important aspects that would help small industries to adopt the BOPS System successfully.
• The end paper is expected to be published with all the details to help the industries that needs better Supply Chain Management Techniques.
