Lab Technician and Surgical Assistant Responsibilities:
Prepare pathology reports and report lab findings to the physician and patients
Prepare and maintain lab for patient care (including stocking supplies in the lab as well as patient rooms, organizing shelves and drawers, daily cleaning of counters and lab equipment)
Sterilize surgical instruments using the appropriate method, e.g. steam, chemical, and creating sterile packets.
Patient intake and charting in the EMR (NexTech).
Assure lab equipment is maintained and functional at all times.
Assist with Mohs surgery including prepping the surgical field, assisting intraoperative procedures, and, applying sturdy bandages, and education of post-operative care, as well as suture removal and individualized wound care instructions.
