Helper Coordinator

Managed group of approximately 80 drivers’ temporary assistant runners during peak holiday season:

Matched available assistants daily with delivery routes. Liaised between drivers and assistants to establish meet points and times.

Updated personnel, route and dispatch tables on the UPS Helper Track system daily for management.

Distributed weekly payroll. Documented assistants’ payroll issues using Excel and Word and followed to resolution.

Major inventory effort at end of project involving return of uniforms, an important security issue for the company. Collaborated to produce detailed Excel reports for HR and Loss Prevention covering completed and unresolved uniform returns.

Contra Costa County/Computer Operations Analyst Dec 2013 – May 2014

Support county’s mainframe legal, financial and HR applications. Monitor MVS/OS (JES2) job flows, resolve Production problems, escalate as necessary. Stage, modify JCL for regular jobs and numerous ad hoc report requests (with 1 time program changes for latter). Install Production software modifications. Tape library maintenance.

Execute and verify data transmissions to and from financial institutions, state and county agencies and vendors.

Telephone support to county users and trouble ticketing on connectivity, system performance and access. Resume, reset passwords and other miscellaneous security functions.

Responsible for large volume print jobs, including secured check warrants, reports and MediCal notifications to clients.

Wells Fargo Bank/Contractor Aug 2009 – Sep 2012

Concord, CA

Principal responsible party for major upgrade to mainframe BH application, which involved expansion of the unit field used throughout Wells Fargo system architecture. Modifications to 100+ components (COBOL programs, JCL procs, control card members). Authored project Functional System Design document and worked with business partners to develop the test plan. Extensively tested BH’s numerous interfaces. Built files for unit testing with FileAid and TSO/ISPF edit. Maintained QA defect and resolution list. Built master change calendar for the upgrade and monitored installations.

Support management of bank’s business credit card portfolio. Coded, tested and implemented software for mass account updates, special offers and promotions and online memos. Structured complex queries for ad hoc reports. Transported files from mainframe to PC/LAN platforms and converted to Excel. Peer reviewed other team members’ work. Tested and installed periodic vendor software updates and job scheduling changes. On call Production support for mainframe processing (principally COBOL and SAS software).

Bank of America Corporation/Systems Engineer Sep 1980 – Feb 2009

Concord, CA

Participated in design, code, testing, implementation and Production support of bank’s mainframe general ledgers and various other financial systems over employment period, as well as support of vendor products used by the bank. Assignments below involved mainframe and program languages on the IBM z/OS (JES2 and JES3 subsystems), z/VM (Virtual Machine) and MS Office. Maintained project documentation on bank repositories. Responded to frequent ad hoc report requests on most assignments. Quarterly DASD capacity planning and Business Continuity Planning and exercise participation on most assignments worked.

Served as team member charged with complete rewrite of legacy Bank of America general ledger systems. DB2 based Pl/I code with embedded SQL, a three year effort. Coded approximately 15 programs, tested through all phases and participated in QA, Production parallel and final installation. Extensive use of DB2 utilities and performance monitoring throughout. Project completed timely and successfully.

Assumed project lead role for bank’s subsidiary conversions to Financial Control Systems general ledger. Added 6 states to the application while in this role.

Converted Bank’s core unit/account database to FCS account/unit standard following merger with NationsBank (2000 – 2003) with revised accounting rules under new organization. Large-scale account development project with 25 + inputs (DDA, CDA, Auto Loans, etc), tested all.

Upgraded 4 major bank applications to COBOL for OS/390 and recoded for Y2K. 150+ modules, 1 year effort.

Supported bank credit card marketing efforts on Teradata warehouse platform for one year.

One year in bank’s Command Center Operations Center. Monitoring, troubleshooting, telephone support to bank’s users and ticketing functions. Analyze user access problems involving RACF user groups and dataset profiles. Disaster recovery exercise support.
