EXPERIENCE
Community Hospital, Monterey CA— Registered Nurse
December 2017- Present
I was hired into a new graduate program where we had extensive training to ease us into clinical practice. Then, I was moved into a position in the Clinical Decisions Unit, which is a branch of the emergency department. Typical patients here are admitted for 24 hours or less. In 2019 applied to the Emergency Nurse Orientation program which was an additional 4 months of training specifically for the Emergency Department. I have been working now in the ER for 6 months.
Carmel Hills, Monterey CA— Registered Nurse
August 2017- November 2017
After passing my NCLEX in July 2017, I was highered as a registered nurse at this skilled nursing facility. I truly value my experience here. It taught me about patient care and time management. While the acuity was lower the patient ratio was much higher. I also valued the bonds I developed with its residents. Truly a memorable experience.
American Medical Response, Seattle WA — EMT B
January 2011- April 2014
While on the nursing waitlist for Cabrillo College I obtained my EMT certification and moved to Seattle, Washington. I was able to get a job with AMR. I got to give EMS nurse hand-o s for over 1000 patients and step foot in over 10 hospitals each with its own specialization. Here I mastered meticulous patient assessments and charting as well as quick thinking and action.
