2-Project Name: Sabo NIPP 15MVA, 33/11KV Injection Substation

Designation: HSE Engineer

Duration: Dec.2013 – Dec.2017.

Main Contractor: Bensuehi Engineering Services Limited/Phillips Outsourcing Services Limited

Project included 33/11kv Injection Substation switch yard with switch gears, cables and transformers installed with power control room where the incomer and outgoing feeders are installed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Promotion of health and safety best practices and safe system of work.

Delivery of toolbox talk and HSE induction training,

Inspection of Personal Protective Equipments (PPE).

Report unsafe act and conditions and initiate corrective action.

Effectively maintained all safety procedure and norms.

To Review contractor Documents such as HSEMS Manual, Project HSE Plan, HSE Procedures, HSE Performance, Emergency Procedures, Training Plan, Risk Assessment/Job Hazard Analysis, etc and ensuring all preventive / control measures are in place.

Establish the need for Safety equipment, first aid, fire protection, hygiene, sanitation & other welfare facilities for workforce to ensure minimum safety & health requirements are met.

Collaborate with concerned supervisor(s) in formulation of Safety action plan / Risk assessment for new and high risk activities and advice improvements as required.

Conduct construction related HSE Trainings/Refresher trainings to Project Management Consultant (PMC) staffs to identify Site hazards during their job activities at Site and report them to company to ensure Project Training Plan is being implemented effectively.

Coordinate with company Senior HSE Engineer/HSE manager to ensure that company HSE assurance requirements and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) are achieved at Site.

Conduct full investigation of accident / incident including near misses incurred; identifies probable causes and prepare reports of the same and ensure that established permanent preventive measure are subsequently carried out.

Participate in and conduct safety inspection and audits at all project locations and activities.

Assess on construction and installation methods of construction plant and equipment and advice / ensure HSE risks are As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP).

Organize “Safety Enhancement Scheme” for the motivation & encouragement of the workers & distribute prizes & appreciation certificates for extraordinary performers.

Monitored strict compliance of “Permit to Work” system at worksite & explain the importance of the same to the workers during toolbox talks & safety meetings.
