Installation and turn-up of digital equipment including SONET (OC192/48/12/3/DS3/DS1/DS0) Add drop Multiplexers (MUX), ethernet, routers, power bays, fiber raceways, rack layout and installation, DC power installation, lacing, and grounding. Cable Splicing Technician 1989 - 2007
Installation, troubleshooting, repair, and splicing of cables including DS1, POTS, Specials (alarm circuits, ISDN), 25 – 3600 pair cables, and punch down blocks. Performed tasks in adverse weather and physical conditions such as underground manholes, buried and aerial plant, customer premise, and during outage conditions. Performed conformance testing to ensure installation success. Experience with numerous tools such as Sidekick to identify and repair opens, crosses, shorts, grounds, etc.. Used tone and tag tools to identify and fix numerous cable issues.

Performed data center backup of critical billing, customer inventory, central office plant assignments, and outside cable records in UNIX/IBM environment. Performed software upgrades and maintained peripherals such as tape drives.
