• Constructed three policies including task oriented, object wise, and class wise training to balance the loss in the detectors, letting each object in the image have the same influence during the adversarial training.

• Designed a lossless compression algorithm using Pixel CNN++ based prediction and Adaptive Arithmetic coding in Python, which achieves significant compression on MNIST and Cifar 10 dataset.

• Designed the preprocessing process for audio, including word embedding, dictionary building, down sampling for MFCC, adding noise, negative sampling.

• Established a system in C++ to accurately identify butterfly species captured by mobile phones; created architecture including an identification algorithm on mobile app and server.
• Wrote a mobile app on Android Studio by Java and set up connection procedure between smartphones and server.
• Utilized a hand crafted image recognition method in server end: Compared image’s histogram and SURF feature points. Executed weighted sum models to enhance butterfly identification success rate up to 76%. Publication
