As INTENSIVIST, I believe I meet all the essential criteria for the position. Well trained with a lot of experiences in the different noninvasive and invasive techniques adopted by the Critical Care Medicine Dept.

Mar 2003 - Feb 2004, FACULTY OF MEDICINE, Senior House Officer. Two months’ rotations in the departments of Internal Medicine, Plastic Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, an elective rotation in the Orthopedic surgery plus one month rotations in the Pulmonology department.

2005 - 2008, FACULTY OF MEDICINE, ALEXANDRIA UNVERSITY, Master Degree in Critical Care Medicine, Alexandria Main University Hospital.

• 1700-bed teaching hospital, all specialties, full lab and radiological investigations including 2 CTs and MRI, and telemedicine, conferences holding and organizing international annual meetings.

• Was responsible for the diagnosis, management and daily care and follow up of patients in a 4-Unit ICU department with a capacity of 42 beds. The admission rate in the department is about 200 patients per month from Alexandria and nearby cities being the highest referral center in the area.

• Related to our Dept. is the Alexandria Toxicology Center, the only toxicology center in the whole Lower Egypt, in which I was able to train and supervise the performance of at least 30 House Officers/year in dealing with all intoxicated cases with an admission rate of about 700 cases per month.

• Experienced in the care of airway management and respiratory failure with its varieties and using different types of positive pressure ventilators like; Adult star, Spirit, Raphael Silver, Bennet, Dragger (Savina, Evita 2, Evita 2dura and Evita 4). This experience included decision making of starting, maintenance and weaning of the patients from mechanical ventilation.

• Have got experience in the different invasive techniques adopted by the Critical Care Medicine Dept. as Central venous catheter insertion, Advanced airway management, Pulmonary artery catheter monitoring and interpretation as well Intra-Aortic Balloon, Arterial cannulation, Tracheostomy both elective and emergency, Intercostal tube insertion, Pericardiocentesis, Thoracocentesis, Paracentesis.

• Can deal with a wide variety of critically ill patients (medical emergencies and those with major trauma) as I gained experience in administrative and management principles, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and advanced life support, critical care Cardiology, hematologic disorders, infectious diseases and antimicrobial agents, ethical and legal aspects of critical care medicine, invasive and noninvasive monitoring systems, metabolic aspects of critical illness, neurological and neurosurgical intensive care, pathophysiology of shock and cardiovascular disease, renal failure, acid- base and fluid and electrolyte disorders.

• Extensive experience with percutaneous dilatational tracheostomy under ultrasound guidance, paracentesis and pleurocentesis under sonar guidance and pig tail insertion.

• Skilled interpretation of X-rays and CT.
