PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY
Design engineering
Coordinator Manager for Specialized Groups and Programs
• SKILLS
• Developed Outfitting and Foundations MEL database and managed personnel and monitored, tracked, and reported progress or arising issues to VP(s) weekly.
• Assigned to manage multiple trades in the Ingalls VP level to departments to evaluate progress, quality, and personnel performance to over 20,000 employees.
• Assigned to develop forms that would enable company to receive ISO compliance.
• Self-initiated the creation of a field/engineering resolution tracking database and managing group which earned hundreds of thousands saving the company money annually by reducing man hours and by greatly reducing redundant work, which also resulted in expedited turn around between construction and engineering.
• Able to create and revise CAD drawings from light direction or update drawings from customer or field markups.
• Do best quality work when shown example steps, and an idea of the finished output is supposed to reflect. Perform well with spreadsheets and tracking/data entry.
• Responsible for evaluating vendor documents for new potentially cost saving products from vendors for the Outfitting Department. If approved per NAVSEA spec requirements for ship installation a 3D and 2D CAD representation were developed by myself or delegated to a team member to be added to the MEL for other designers to utilize.
• Ensure clearance, height, weight, and installation was upheld for all outfitting equipment, and make changes to mounting if needed.
• Ensure each compartment met outfitting build spec requirements for personnel and made adjustments as needed to modify or relocate items and their mounting as needed.
• Maintain and ensure proper materials were utilized in potential wet areas to ensure problematic issues such as corrosion could be avoided as much as possible.
• Responsible for layout of Outfitting EQPT such as berthing racks, joiner bulkheads, desks, mess hall tables as ship design would change with upgrades.
