Infrastructure Program Manager – DexYP Media

Selected to lead consolidation of 4 data centers into 2 following merger and acquisition of Yellow Pages by Dex Media. Applied Waterfall, Agile, and Scrum methodologies in leading project involving network upgrades, large-scale deployments, data center mergers, application migration and AWS/Azure migrations. Worked closely with client in developing business cases and plans to ensure smooth transition of applications. Managed project teams and provided support necessary to complete their work successfully. Migrated and merged 4 petabytes of storage with 5,500 physical/virtual servers and 5 new data circuits. Led relocation of disaster recovery data center involving 500 physical devices including rack elevations, cabling, and hardware/software set-up. Spearheaded 3 large-scale hardware transfers for consolidation from 3 data centers to 2 colocation cages (one with 48 cabinets and other with 70 cabinets) involving size, number, rack types, power requests, copper/fiber cabling requirements and security standards. Assisted with Global Traffic Management (GTM) and Local Traffic Management (LTM) schemas. Oversaw vendor selection and logistics to retain HW certification for maintenance. Transferred 75 client-facing, revenue generating applications, databases, and web servers. Coordinated redesigning of DNS, DHCP, SCOM, Solarwinds, FTP, Logging, Active Directory, LDAP, Monitoring, Wiki, Nagios, Tier 0 services and IT tools. Changed IP address, DNS and AD entries on all applications and segregated apps/databases into new VLAN security layout. Led migration of data centers from outdated locations to new state-of-the-art HP data centers. Worked closely with clients and account teams in providing in-depth knowledge and insight regarding data center environments, architecture of relevant applications, interdependencies between applications and infrastructure, and best practices for migrating while maintaining existing service level agreements.
