Mesa Fine Arts, Mesa, AZ

A seven acre performing, visual arts campus: Lighting for four theaters, 14 classrooms, art galleries and featured exterior lighting. Prescott Library, Prescott, AZ

The library’s lighting concept was born out of creating a contemporary feel without losing its existing architectural appeal. The design consisted of creating an inviting and enriching reading experience in a familiar, yet new environment. The library’s three stories and expansive main floor were considered. Lighting the main entrance, which consisted of high ceiling space, was achieved with indirect/direct light fixtures. It was imperative to the owner that the ceiling space above the stacks be kept clean. This was achieved by bringing power from the floor, through the stacks, and creating a fixture designed to connect to an arm to illuminate the front face of the stacks. In order to compete with its modern surroundings, illuminating the library throughout was achieved through its use of down lights, track lighting, and pendant fixtures for the administration area. Skyline Elementary School, Mesa, AZ

A 315,000 SF high school including city operated library and enhanced theater/ auditorium. This elementary school’s library’s lighting concept was envisioned through the eyes of its users. The library serves children in kindergarten through eighth grade. It is operated during regular school hours. The lighting design for this library consisted of creating an innovative and inviting reading area for Skyline readers. The design was adapted from its name, representing the sky both day and night. The corridor leading to the library represents a galaxy. This is achieved by making use of the ceiling space and creating a celestial pattern with florescent pendant fixtures. The fluorescent wall sconces represent planets in this galaxy. The media center is representative of the sky during the day. Sunrays are achieved by using linear indirect/direct light fixtures. Sitting at the media center, one is reminded of stars in the sky which are achieved by its down lights. Scottsdale Appaloosa Library, Scottsdale, AZ

This project is a 20,000 SF single story facility. The library’s lighting concept was born out of creating a contemporary feel.
