I am a Registered Medical Practitioner and completed FCPS 2 Training in Internal Medicine having started my Fellowship of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan in July 2016. I have around 5 years of post-graduate experience in various fields of Medicine in Pakistan. During my Fellowship, I completed four years of training in Internal Medicine including fouteen months of rotations in various medicine and allied specialties.
I have the privilege of working in one of the largest and World Recognized Health Care Facility in Pakistan. Shifa International Hospital is a JCI (Joint Commission International) accredited 550 beds healthcare facility, which has been offering quality healthcare services for 25 years. I have been a part of Internal Medicine Residency Program conducted by Post Graduate Medical Education PGME Shifa International Hospital affiliated with College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan.I have been involved in the acute management in emergency, outpatient and inpatient care of Internal Medicine patients on a daily basis. I have gained valuable experience in the management of patients with ESKD including hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, Kidney, Bone Marrow and Liver transplant donor and recipient work up, Critical Care and Obstetric Medicine, Gastroenterology, Dermatology during my rotational training. Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad Pakistan (July 2016 - 30 June 2020) Resident PGY 3 & 4 (July 2018 - 30 June 2020)
Internal Medicine Resident
I had the privilege of working in a major tertiary care unit which is 550 bed health care facility that has major residency programs. As an internal medicine resident, I was involved in the care of all inpatient and outpatient general medicine patients. This job also involved attending outpatient clinics as well as thrice weekly academic sessions as part of continued medical education. Internal medicine rotation: care of all patients admitted under the medical unit. This included all patients admitted to hospital with acute medical issues, as well as patients presenting with chronic diseases requiring inpatient care.
Consultation rotation: responsible for the care of patients referred from the emergency department and all inpatient units. The trainee is also responsible for the in-centre medicine consultations under supervision of qualified medical Consultants Outpatient rotation: The trainee is also responsible for the care of outpatient patients requiring management of medical diseases and their complications. Medicine trainees are also given privileges for insertion of non-tunneled vascular access catheters, lumbar puncture, nasogastric tube insertions, pleural and peritoneal aspirations for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Medicine trainees also attended regular weekly medicine morbidity and mortality meetings, medicine department grand rounds and journal club meetings. Advance Trainee General & Acute Care Medicine (July 2018 to 30 June 2020) Post Graduate Resident - PGY2 (July 2017- June 2018) Clinical Hematology Rotation (April 2018 - May 2018) I worked as a resident in Hematology for two months during my rotational training at Shifa International Hospital which is a major Bone Marrow Transplant unit in Islamabad, Pakistan. I have gained valuable experience in Clinical Hematology in outpatient and inpatient settings including management of anemia, platelet disorders, hematological malignancies, workup and management of hematopoetic stem cell transplant patients. Nephrology Rotation (Jan 2018 - Feb 2018)
I worked as a resident in Nephrology for two months during my rotational training at Shifa International Hospital which is a major renal transplant unit in Islamabad, Pakistan. It is one of the few hospitals in Pakistan performing kidney transplants in patients with near-ESKD .I have gained valuable experience in general nephrology including in-centrehaemodialysis, chronic kidney disease and complications, acute kidney injury, glomerulonephritis and hypertension management. The out-patient clinics include transplant clinic, vacuities clinic, lupus clinic, CKD clinic, glomerulonephritis clinic and diabetes-renal clinic. Cardiology Rotation (April 2017 - May 2017)
I worked as a resident in Cardiac Care Unit for two months during my rotational training at Shifa International Hospital Islamabad, Pakistan which has a 24/7 quality Cath Lab service for Percutaneous Coronary Intervention. I was involved in emergency inpatient and outpatient management of patients.
