• Ensure quality compliance to all products and procedures for the DSM Dyneema Mesa, AZ facility.
• Responsible for reviewing results and reporting necessary values on certificates of conformance (CofC) and sharing this information with Logistics to relay to the customer.
• Performs inspection, sample preparation, and physical testing on raw materials, work in progress, and finished products. Testing and measurement activities may include but not limited to tensile, tear strength, peel strength, puncture, abrasion, density, viscosity, water vapor transmission rate, flammability, and water pressure resistance.
• Maintain excellent laboratory documentation skills and documents; review laboratory work using forms, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that are in place.
• Certified author for controlled documents (SOP, Production/Quality records, Testing Procedure) revisions/redlines/development.
• Perform In-Process Verification to ensure compliance with Standard Operational Procedures and Quality issues related to inspection, training, and equipment set up.
• Review Batch records including control check sheets, controlled notebooks, raw data, and lab reports.
• Participate in Kaizen events, Gemba walks, and group decision making for process improvement.
• Report to various organization levels including supervisors, managers, and directors.
Key Contributions:
●Coordinated DSM Mesa location’s implementation of an Electronic Document Management (EDM) software/system (including procedures, tools, processes, and software packages). Initiated, analyzed requirements, designed, migrated, tested, implemented, rolled-out, set up, and supported employees how to manage procedures, guidelines, work instructions, instructions to contractors, templates, numbering, and filing systems already in place and how to create new processes and procedures with the software. Served as the point person for document control guidance and mentoring.
●Assisted in completing an external audit by a major customer of DSM for the first time since the installation of new quality control laboratory management.
●Wrote the validation testing procedures and served as the validation tester, collaboratively with development engineers, control engineers, and safety engineers, to validate an industrial CO2 laser (Boss LS-4055) to have this laser become the standard cutting method for all specimens tested in the quality laboratory.
