I am currently participating in the audit of a World Bank assisted project known as Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management (NEWMAP) which was created by the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Environment FMEnv in collaboration with World Bank and other partner agencies (Global Environmental Facility and Special Climate Change Fund), The aim is to assess compliance level of the ESMP to applicable regulations and safeguards, provide appropriate corrective action and present audit findings to stakeholders. As the Project Manager of the ESI project, I carried out GIS Mapping / Survey and reporting. The project involves identifying and classifying the ecosystem in reference to its behaviour to oil spill, providing a visual representation of risk and assets that may be threatened.
