Bernardino General Hospital is a tertiary hospital with 80 beds capacity covers all areas of health care from pre-natal to ill patients.

I work full time in the Emergency Room which had 8 beds capacity and covers all cases as an ER Nurse my responsibilities involved.

Initiates implementation of medical management like request for admission and orients to the physical set-up of the unit hospital policies and other services.

Interview patient and significant other regarding present and past history of illness.

Observe and report general condition of patient and notify doctor on duty. Carry out doctor’s order intelligently.

Inform other units such as laboratory, pharmacy, radiology department if needed.

Administer medications guided by 10 rights, and note reaction as observed.

Perform nursing action or procedures such as insertion of nasogastric tube, indwelling foley catheter. Does ECG, CPR, Parentheral injection. Prepare patient nebulization, wound dressing, and administer oxygen therapy.

Accomplishes laboratory, and other diagnostic request written on the physician’s orders.

Ιnsert intravenous fluids with the use of cannula.

Check and monitor intake/output and record to flow sheet completely and accurately.

Assist physician during wound dressing and other minor procedure.

Provide emotional support to the patients and family members and work with them to gain understanding of patient illness and cooperate towards promoting early recovery of the patient.

Provide therapeutic, safe physical and psychological environment of the patient.
