Accounts Payable Time

Thank you in advance for allowing me the opportunity to present myself.

I have been employed with Batesville Casket Company my entire working career.

Beginning in the Purchasing Department, I had a variety of skills that included but were not limited to records of purchases, suppliers, pricing and receipts for all manufacturing facilities. In addition, I was the receptionist where greeting our suppliers gave me interpersonal skills. Having had strong ties with our suppliers, the five years in Purchasing gave me the background for the Accounts Payable position I currently hold.

My position in Accounts Payable predominately requires me to facilitate resolution between suppliers and Batesville Casket Company ultimately processing payment. Needed skills have been strict confidentiality, problem solving to prevent escalation, capability to manage departmental issues, skill to work independently (and now remotely), patience, strong written and verbal communications, computer literacy and ability to prioritize. My longevity with Batesville Casket and experience in both areas of the company have made me the "go to" person for misdirected issues. The platform Batesville Casket uses is JD Edwards, though I have previously used several other systems. I have been the “test person” for all new system platforms within the Accounts Payable area.

I have had great respect for Batesville Casket Company. They have given me years of knowledge and stable employment. In return they have received my dedication to the company, devotion to the position, and attention to critical details that can only be achieved by experience and longevity. My yearly reviews have always been above expectation for my work, time, attention to detail and my worth as an employee.

Our entire department was recently outsourced, and I anticipate this is just the start of a trend. The position I have loved for many years is now part of that transition. I would like the opportunity to prove my value and dedication in a full-time position.
