Client - UPS

Document HR/Payroll system for UPS as they transition to a new vendor.

Responsible for any changes to their Mainframe Cobol programs, copybooks, JCL and Procs that relate to their HR and Payroll systems. Including moving to production using Changeman.

Responsible for updating CICS screen when needed to add or remove data elements.

Responsible for maintaining multiple test environments.

Use JCL and Db2/SQL extracts to refresh test database from production for specific regions.

Worked with BA’s and users to validate new tax changes.

Client – Albany Medical Center

Responsible for running and validating payrolls on their z/OS Mainframe system while the core team converted them to Workday. This entailed changing and running Cobol Programs on their Mainframe using JCL and Procs.

Client – Peoplestrategy

Worked with BA’s in doing pre conversion data assessments of clients converting from old Fujitsu Cobol payroll system to new Java and Vue.js system. This included running Db2/SQL queries to validate old data vs new to ensure a match and then using SPLUNK to track our conversion processes and validate the microservices ran the correct jobs.

Lead programmer analyst working with Client Delivery Team to root out and resolve client reported issues 24 x 7. SLA for these issues was less than 8 hrs.

Maintained test data in all levels of QA databases (Unit, Integration and Regression) for multiple clients.

Worked with BA’s to come up with QA acceptance criteria to add to Epics and Stories for grooming and then validation.

Performed Unit, Integration and Regression testing to ensure code met the expected results without impacting existing processes.

Maintained Vb programs that converted text files to PDF using Microsoft Visual Studio and Git for version control.

Development representative on agile scrum teams, providing work estimate for the classification of tickets.

Built and maintained Postgres/SQL/Db2 queries for troubleshooting, debugging, data corrections, and reporting.

Supported bug fixes, software upgrades, packaging and delivery to multiple Cobol platforms including Mainframe, Fujitsu and Microfocus for upward of 20 clients.

Was integral part of the team that converted our Cobol payroll system using sequential vsam files to a new Db2/SQL microservice based system using Java 8.

Built Cobol for windows interfaces to maintain Tax tables for all Internal and external clients. This included building and maintaining the relational database schema in Postgres.

Recipient of the Homer Award for the development and implementation of the Tesseract Position Control Module, an HCM system allowing managers to track and report on staffing needs in their big box stores as well as corporate. This included interfacing with a proprietary sub system to provide EEO reporting.

Maintained the interface between a PeopleSoft HR and Tesseract HR/Payroll system.

Maintained the Tesseract Benefits enrollment system for US store associates only.

Supported all payroll interfaces including Benefit and 401k providers (Hewitt), ESPP (Employee Stock Purchase Plan) and Kronos time keeping.

Supported Bethlehem Steel’s Tesseract Payroll/HR system. Duties included monthly software upgrades and managing interfaces to Dun & Bradstreet A/P system.

Developed and implemented a Position Control system for Bethlehem Steel which tracked over 10,000 employee movements throughout the corporate hierarchy.

Client - Empagio

Supported the Tesseract HR/Payroll system for 15 clients in an ASP hosted model.

Responsible for the payroll conversion of acquired businesses to The Home Depot's payroll system, requiring extensive data gathering from 3 separate and unique payroll systems and the integration into the standard payroll system for The Home Depot.

Maintained clients CICS screen updates.

Built a system to create HTML web pages using Cobol, Neon Shadow Web Server, javascript and CSS. This allowed us to build dynamic web pages via the mainframe.
